Frequently Asked Questions
Getting financing for a car, truck or SUV has the potential be a scary process. After all, this is one of those things we all have to go through and we don’t often get a lot of education on the proper way to do things. That’s why we here at the Bill Jacobs Auto Group put together this list of FAQs to try and help you get a leg up on the process.
- How do I even know what my credit score is and where should I look for it?
There are many places online that you can obtain a credit report and have a look at your credit score. We offer one on our website that is just as secure as any other financial institution. Knowing what your credit score is the first step to getting your financing journey underway.
- I know my credit score isn’t the greatest. Does this mean I can’t get a car loan?
Absolutely not. While having a better credit score does make things easier for getting a car loan, having a less than perfect credit situation isn’t a total deal breaker. Unfortunately it may mean paying a little more interest every month, but by paying your car loan off on time will likely go a long way toward repairing your credit.
- Is there anything I can do to make things a little easier on myself when applying for credit?
Right away, if you know you are going to be looking at getting a loan for a car, start getting your financial house in order as much as possible. Try to pay off as much credit card debt as you can; or at the very least be paid up on all of your bills. By not having delinquent accounts will show lenders that you are back on the right path.
- What should I have with me when I apply for my car loan?
Here is a list of items that you will need to apply for a loan at Bill Jacobs Secondary Credit: A valid driver’s license, a pay stub from your most recent pay check, a list of references (just like you would have for a job interview), the title of the car you are trading in and proof of residence like a phone or utility bill.
- What kind of car can I get if I have bad credit?
At Bill Jacobs, we have a full lot of reliable vehicles you can purchase. We go over each vehicle we take in and give it a close inspection to make sure it is safe for you and your family to ride in.
